Athena is a force of nature. She holds ideals and masters the Art of Intention. She stands in her power with dignity, integrity and reverence. She is resilient, she knows her limits and embody a visionary spirit. She nurtures and protects life. During this day, expect to explore the light and the shadow of becoming a mother, from Athena’s perspective. Through rituals, councils and inner reflection, you’ll walk away feeling better prepared to embrace mentally, spiritually and emotionally what’s to come. The retreat will culminate into a Mother Blessing & Self-Marriage Ceremony.

The retreat will bring a unique circle of 12 expecting mothers and new mamas who each value the power of sisterhood, ceremony, deep listening, celebration and creative expression as medicine.
The retreat will be spacious, integrative, nourishing and rooted in stillness, allowing each participant the space to deepen relationship with their soul and the soul that’s growing inside their womb. While the retreat will last a full day, it is designed to accommodate the needs of each woman present given the energy level you come with.

Participants plan to arrive at 9:30am. You’ll have 30 minutes to settle in. We'll open our circle at 10am.
Here's a sample schedule.
9:30-10 Welcome. Settling in in stillness around tea.
10-11 Opening the circles around tea, intros & orientation for the day.
10:30 Guided Meditation & Soul Story.
Noon Archetypal exploration with prompts, tasks, nature walk & council.
1:30 Delicious Lunch & Free Time
3:00 Q&A and ritual led by midwife & nutritionist Aleks Evanguelidi
4:30 Village building, what’s next.
5:00-5:30 Closing ritual.

$175 per person, including organic vegetarian lunch.

Magalie Bonneau - Rite of Passage Guide
Magalie’s life is a dedication to authentic truth, fostering feminine intelligence, celebrating the human spirit and guiding Rites of Passage for women. Magalie is committed to offer pregnant women the tools and community to live this Rite of Passage gracefully. Since 2011, she has led retreats and large scale ritual events internationally. As the founder of Dancing Without Borders, she has developed a body of work rooted in the power of community, rituals, art and sacred activism as a mean to support our collective liberation. In the Spring of 2020, she will become the mama of a little boy. This sacred Pregnancy has inspired this new offering. While her life experience and spiritual path has been her greatest teacher, she is also certified as a professional Coach with CTI (2005), a Vision Quest Guide with Wilderness Reflection, a movement facilitator with Dancing Freedom (2013) and been walking the medicine path since 2002. Originally from Quebec, she currently calls Topanga Canyon her home.
Leah Lamb - Writer, storyteller and lover of wilderness
Leah Lamb works with Story as a tool for social change and as a doorway for personal transformation. Leah developed working with story as a personal and community development tool by producing large and small scale events that bring story and ritual and ceremony together at festivals, google executive retreats, and for individuals.She was initiated into the world of theater at a young age and studied at The Neighborhood Playhouse in NYC, and worked off-broadway before leaving for Arizona where she earned a degree in Experiential Education and Environmental Education Through Performance at Prescott College. She went on to earn a Master in Social Work from VCU, and founded The Performance Initiative, and organization committed to utilizing the arts for social change. She hosted The Green Channel at the Emmy award winning television network, Current TV. Her writing about the environment and culture has been featured in National Geographic News Watch, Planet Green, Huffington Post, Spirituality & Health Magazine, and Fast Company. Friday March 27th, noon to 2pm
Join us for a friendly potluck and new mama circle. Coming into motherhood is a remarkable Rite of Passage. Life altering, identity morphing, and so sacred. New mamas, need one another. We need each other to feel whole, capable, abundant, and resilient. We need each other to express and celebrate each other’s creative spirit. We need each other to honor the power and vulnerability that we all feel. We need each other to help us get back on our feet and in our heart when we are falling. This is an invitation to step out of the day-to-day demands, investing in our bodies, hearts and souls. We will share food weaving the fabric of new mamas as allies.
Birth as Portal for Rebirth

Designed to unlock the beauty and feminine power within you, this journey seeks to deepen connection to your source as you delve into where you’re at. Fear, excitement, tenderness and courage will arise, be held and supported - allowing you to not only to prepare for birth but support your rebirth as the woman you are and called to be. Through embodied practices, creative rituals, resource sharing and circle, you’ll reconnect to your feminine strength and surrender to your natural creative essence.
